Post the procedure

Once the tooth extraction procedure is over, you can follow the below steps to minimize discomfort:

  • Take the prescribed painkillers
  • Relax for the next 24 hours and reduce the next 48 hour’s activity
  • After 24 hours of the process, rinse your mouth with salt and lukewarm water
  • Eat soft food and with passing time, you can add solid food to your diet.

It is normal to experience some discomfort and pains after the effects of anesthesia wear off. You can expect some swelling and residual bleeding post the procedure. In case you suffer too much pain, do not hesitate to call your dentist immediately.
